Single-Vehicle Accident Leaves Two Dead, Driver Behind Bars


Authorities in McAllen are investigating a deadly single-vehicle accident that happened this weekend.

Victims have been identified and the driver of the vehicle is now behind bars.

The accident happened November 17th around 2 am at the 4000 block of 2nd Street.

Fox News cameras captured the moment officials were at the scene picking up the bodies of the passengers. According to authorities, the vehicle crashed into a unity pole and rolled over. The two passengers identified as 29-year-old Christian Jordan Guzman and 21-year-old Taylor Nicole Crouse were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle 21-year-old Scottie Lee Ochoa was transported to a hospital. Ochoa was charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter. His bond was set at 300,000 dollars on each count.

Mcallen officials say the cause of the accident remains under investigation. We will bring you more details as they become available.
