Less than two weeks after Cameron County officials re-opened a murder case gone cold, authorities have located the main suspect.
Now 20 years later, 42-year-old Jorge Medina was arraigned at a Brownsville municipal court after he was detained by Brownsville school district police at a private property in reference a public disturbance report.
Medina is believed to be behind the 1993 homicide of 17-year-old Carol Ramone Reed, whose body was found laying on the side of FM 142 in Olmito.
Medina is also thought to have led a group of car thieves in the valley during the early 90’s. He is now free on bond while police continues to look for other suspects linked to the case.
