Authorities are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian accident that happened this weekend. Police say there are still no leads in the investigation.

The incident happened at the 500 block of Sanchez Street at about 2:26 am.

At the scene, authorities found a male victim with injuries that indicated he was struck by a vehicle.

“He’s approximately Hispanic male between the age of 20 to 25 he had no form of identification on him or on his body or in the area to positively identify him.”

Laredo police say the victim was bleeding profusely and was pronounced dead at the scene. They add there were no vehicles nearby, indicating this is a hit and run accident.

Authorities are now investigating what could have caused this fatality. With the ongoing investigation, authorities remind the community to never leave the scene or there could be consequences.

“If you fail to stay at the scene you can be arrested. It can be considered an arrestable offense and depending on the gravity of the accident whether there be serious bodily inures the charge can be upgraded to a felony.”
