38-year-old Jason Robert Quintana is wanted by authorities after allegedly stealing from a convenience store.

The incident happened Sunday around 3 am at a Stripes store located on the 700 block of South Commerce St.

Harlingen Police Commander John Perish tells Fox News Quintana took money and cigarettes, then fled the scene.

“A male subject had entered the store, walked around the counter, stated this is a robbery, he demanded money in fear for his own safety the clerk did comply.”

Perish adds that after patrolling the area, they were able to find Quintana’s vehicle.

“There was a vehicle that we had a description of that fled the area. Officials did spot it when they were searching the area, they attempted to stop the vehicle but fled in a high rate of speed so we disengaged the pursuit.”

The officer says the vehicle was found a few minutes later when it was involved in an accident at Palm Court and Frontage Road. He adds Quintana fled the incident on foot and left a woman behind.

“Female driver had substance non-life-threatening injuries she was treated but she was also charged with die evading arrest and for her part in the robbery.”
