Phone calls to residents is one of the ways the city and Laredo Police are trying spread the message to avoid social gatherings.
This method comes after city leaders say they continue to see people violating the emergency order and hosting get togethers . Select community members have received this phone call.
“The reverse 911 is an automated phone call that citizens will receive as long as they registered within our sistem or have a landline. In this call, we are urging the residents to remain at home and avoid social gatherings from people outside your family.”

Laredo Police have formed a task force made up of other law enforcement agencies to make sure businesess are obeying the emergency mandate. Their mission is to make sure the use of face masks is enforced. Last weekend, Laredo Police visited eight establishments through the help of anonymous tips,
“And in these businesses, we issued a total of 10 citations. The citations were distributed among the businesess, To the patrons, business owners and managers.”
