Accompanied by his sons, Martin Gonzalez helped the Red Cross distribute supplies to colonia residents across the Rio Grande Valley. He says despite being in a difficult situation since he was left without a roof, it is always important to help others,
“They asked us to help in the morning and I said yes let’s help them and i brought my kids to help out distributing everything that the red cross is bringing.”

The Red Cross traveled to the affected areas in the valley, distributing essential items to hundreds of affected families. Since July 25, this agency has distributed more than 34,800 meals to people in need.
Aside from providing supplies for community members in need, she says they have been receiving help from families such as Gonzalez’s.
