The MLB and Players Association have agreed to stage seven inning double headers starting August 1st. This change comes as more and more games continue to be postponed due to a coronavirus outbreak.
As of now, six teams will have to sit out this weekend due to precautionary measures to avoid a further spread of the virus. The league had previously approved an extra-inning rule that placed a man on second base. This will also apply towards the 8th inning in double header days.
