City officials remind the community we are at the highest risk of contracting the virus. Both local hospitals continue to work around the clock as their admissions increase.
The health department says the number of patients increases by the hour.
“At the ICU in Laredo Medical Center, we are at 100 percent capacity. 20 patients and 13 of them are in ventilators.”
At their non-ICU COVID unit, Laredo Medical Center is approaching maximum capacity. Doctor’s Hospital is struggling with the same issue.
“They’re 90 percent filled in the ICU COVID unit: six on the ventilator and they have capacity of 10 patients.”
