2 Patients In Laredo Being Tested For Possible Coronavirus Infection

Laredo, Texas– In a statement, doctors hospital confirms they have tested two patients for coronavirus. They are currently in isolation in the hospital.

According to Laredo fire department chief Steve Landin, an elderly man and a woman in her 30’s were tested. Doctors hospital says they are working closely with the city of Laredo health department, and are following guidelines from the centers for disease control in order to evaluate patients and follow appropriate protocols.

According to the health department, there are no confirmed cases of coronavirus and ask the community to follow the safety steps of washing their hands and covering their mouth when they cough.

Officials say the patients did not travel to the zones affected by the virus but did travel to Nuevo Laredo.

They also say the lab tests were sent to San Antonio and expect to have the results this weekend.
The city of Laredo will hold a meeting to discuss the coronavirus outbreak and their local efforts to prepare for it. The meeting will take place tomorrow at the fire administration building.
