10-Year Probation Given To Man Accused Of Infant’s Death
A San Benito man accused of the death of his four-month-old nephew will avoid prison time.
39-year-old Abraham Proenza was originally sentenced to 40 years in federal prison but appealed the decision and was given another trial. The new jury found him guilty of a lesser crime and sentenced him to 10 years probation. District Attorney Luis V. Saenz says he respects the jury’s decision but does not agree with it.
